In the Limpopo province, they are found in a place called Botlokwa, north of Polokwane. It is home to the Batlokwa who arrived in the area in 1820s and are not part of the Batlokwa who had been led by Chief Sekonyela, as they had seceded at an earlier period. There is also scattering of the Batlokwa found all over the North West.
Township near Vanderbijlpark established in 1955 to house black residents who worked in Vanderbijlpark and Vereeniging. Its neighbouring townships are Sebokeng, Orange Farm, Boipatong, Small Farms, Biotumelo, Polokong, Golden Gardens and Lakeside. It was built as residence for migrant workers who worked for the then Iscor which is now called Arcelor Mittal Vanderbijlpark.
Small town in northern Gauteng that was formerly part of the Bophuthatswana homeland until 1994. Temba, which forms a “part” of the greater Hammanskraal area was developed during the 1940s and was the only town developed in the then Tswanaland. It was the first planned black town in a homeland.
One of the oldest “coloured” townships, established in 1939 as what was meant to be a temporary home for the poorest class of coloured removed from inner city slums. One of the multiple locations that make up greater Soweto. The Noordgesig community is closely knitted in peace, love, and family values.
Riverlea is an outskirts district located in western Johannesburg. The small community of Riverlea in southwestern Johannesburg is built around a mine dump, and on either side other dumps tower over it. From the streets the view is dominated by mountains of dirty yellow sand and the FNB Stadium in the distance.
Umjindini Local Municipality is situated in the south-eastern part of Mpumalanga on the escarpment. The municipal area forms part of the Ehlanzeni District Municipality, together with Nkomazi Local Municipality, Thaba Chweu Local Municipality, Mbombela Local Municipality and Bushbuckridge Local Municipality.
