Noordgesig

One of the oldest “coloured” townships, established in 1939 as what was meant to be a temporary home for the poorest class of coloured removed from inner city slums.

One of the multiple locations that make up greater Soweto. The Noordgesig community is closely knitted in peace, love, and family values.

IMPLEMENTATION     

  • Donation of R10 000 towards a geyser at a local secondary school.
  • Donation of R10 000 towards computer lab/library books at primary school.
  • Donation of R4 000 made towards Frank Cassim Reading Programme for young learners.
  • Assistance of Grade 12 pupils with university application process.
  • Provided resources including external teachers to aid Grade 12 pupils in their preparation for the final examination.
  • The art project which saw the painting of murals in the community and incorporated art classes for young children.
  • Distribution of R350 Shoprite vouchers to the members of community for sharing their stories.
